Navaratri

The essence of Navaratri is to invoke Goddess Lalitha through traditional worship, prayers and chants. When the invocation is done with deep devotion and fervent prayer, Goddess Lalitha manifests Herself.

Brahmanda purana states that Mother Lalitha resides in the Pit of our Consciousness deep within our heart space ( hrydaya akasha) as a jyothi or a flame. Mother sits enthroned in this tiny etheric space as an inextinguishable flame. In Lalitha Sahasranama the fourth name of Shri Lalitha is " Chidagni Kunda Sambhootha' which means that She manifests from the pit of the fire of consciousness that is deep within all of us. She is CHIT.

She rises from the deep recesses of our Hearts as the activating energy of the spirit (Atman). Divine Mother as the activating energy energises the Bliss sheath (Anandamaya Kosha) which lies in the close proximity to the Atman. Divine Mother is Ananda and she spreads waves of Ananda.

As Divine Mother rises further, the Ignorance (Avidya) in the causal body is burnt up in this Chidagni and the knowledge of the Self (Sat) is revealed. Divine Mother is SAT.

As Mother Lalitha arises higher, She revitalises, rejuvenates, energises and conquers the demoniac forces of inertia and ego - centrism. Mother Lalitha is Power of Will, that is Iccha Shakti.

Lalitha Matha is the pulsating, igniting, dynamic, activating and relentless energy. She is the power of action, that is Kriya Shakti.

At this alter of Chidagni one must sacrifice one's inner and outer nature very reverently so that Lalitha Matha rises as the supreme form of knowledge. Mother is the power of knowledge that is Jnana Shakti.

Lalitha Matha as Shri Guru is Sat- Chit - Ananda and Iccha Shakti, Jnana Shakti and Kriya Shakti.

Parama Pujya Shri Shri Nimishananda Guruji is the embodiment of Lalitha Matha's supreme knowledge and Supreme energy. Shri Guru is the embodiment of Shiva and Shakti. Thousand Salutations at the Lotus Feet of Shri Guru Nimishananda.

May all experience and realise Shri Guru within their own hearts.
